Why do these «indices» attract us so much?
There is an amazing amount of rumors that claim to guess what is not seen from a physical detail. Some look at the hands, others the nose, size, legs or even the amount of hair to try to imagine the size of the penis or the sexual abilities of a man.
The idea is attractive because it would give an answer without having to ask questions or really know the person.
Does a longer ring mean a larger penis?
This statement comes in particular from studies that compared the ratio between index length and ring length, often called 2D:4D ratio, with different body characteristics.

A small study conducted in adult men observed a statistical association between this ratio and penis length.
The problem is that an average association in a group does not properly predict the size of a specific person.
- A relatively small sample does not represent the entire population; ;
- A correlation does not prove that the length of the finger determines the genital anatomy; ;
- Individual differences are far too large to use the hands as a measuring instrument.
In other words, even if a search finds a statistical trend, looking at a partner's hand does not allow you to know the size of your penis.
Does a large nose indicate a large penis?

It is probably one of the most famous rumors. The nose is visible, its size varies a lot and it is easy to build a humorous comparison around it.
Studies can sometimes find an association in a given group, then this information is taken up as if it were working for each individual. Two men with a similar sized nose can have totally different anatomy, just like two men of the same size or size.
The nose can therefore be a joke subject, but not a hidden tape measure.
Are men spreading their legs «larger»?

In transport or on a sofa, some men sit with their legs very apart.
In practice, the sitting position depends on many elements: pelvic morphology, flexibility, clothing, habits, seat width and simple comfort. The testicles are found on the outside of the body and a very tight posture can actually be uncomfortable, but this does not allow to deduce the size of the penis.
Anatomical comfort and «proof» of particular dimensions must therefore be distinguished.
Does more hair mean more «sexual power»?

This rumor often starts from a reasoning of the type: more hairiness = more male hormones = more desire and performance.
Hairiness depends on genetics, age, follicle sensitivity to hormones and many other factors. Two men with comparable hormonal levels can have very different amounts of hair.
Sexual performance also depends on many elements: cardiovascular state, fatigue, drugs, stress, excitement, relationship with the partner, alcohol consumption, general health and psychological context.
A very hairy man is therefore not automatically more enduring or more excited, and a little hairy man does not necessarily have a weak libido.

Does penis size at least predict the quality of the reports?
Again, the shortcut is misleading. The quality of a sexual experience depends much more on comfort, excitement, communication, rhythm and preferences of the people concerned than a single anatomical measure.
A larger size may even require more preparation or limit certain positions if it causes discomfort.
Can you know the size just by looking at someone?
No, not reliably. Neither the length of the fingers, nor the size of the nose, nor the size, nor the way of sitting, nor the hairiness allow you to correctly measure the penis of an individual.

If the question becomes relevant in a relationship, the simplest remains communication and the real discovery of the body, in a context of trust and consent. And if the concern concerns an anatomical anomaly or a sexual function problem, only a health professional can perform a useful medical assessment.
in short
Physical rumors work well as anecdotes because they give the impression of revealing a secret. They work much less well as prediction tools.
Rather than looking for «signs» on a person's body, it is better to remember that a satisfying sexuality is based above all on compatibility, communication and real sensations, not on the assumptions made even before knowing each other.
