Like other parts of the body, the penises naturally have many variations. Length, circumference, glans shape, curvature and difference between flaccid condition and erection may vary from man to man.
There is no «perfect» form. Most of these differences are simply anatomical and have no negative effect on sexual function.
1. wider base and narrower glans
In some men, the base of the penis is thicker than the near part of the glans. The set may slightly recall the shape of a cone.

During penetration, a strong circumference may require more lubricant and slower progression.
2. wider glans
Other penises have a larger glans than the body. This form is sometimes compared to a fungus.
The width of the glans does not predict the duration before ejaculation.
3. relatively uniform shape
In some men, the base, the body and the area under the glans have fairly close dimensions, giving a more even appearance over the entire length.
The different curvatures in erection
A perfectly straight penis is not a mandatory standard. A slight upward, bottom, left or right curvature is very common.
A recently appeared curvature, painful or bothering the reports, on the other hand deserves medical advice.

In some men, the penis remains practically straight when erect, with very little visible curvature.
5. Curvature upwards
An upward curvature is common. Depending on the anatomy of both partners and the position used, it can modify the contact areas during penetration.

In other men, the axis of the penis is slightly oriented downwards in erection.

A slight lateral curvature to the right can simply result from the way erectile tissues developed.
8. Curvature to the left
The same principle applies to a curvature to the left.

Sometimes the English terms «grower» and «shower» are used to describe this difference.

In some men, the penis appears relatively small at rest and then increases significantly in length and in circumference during erection.

Several characteristics can be combined

Size and shape may also look different depending on temperature, stress or excitement. A point-in-time observation in the Flaccid state therefore does not say much about erection.
When should you consult?
The shape of the penis deserves medical advice when a change suddenly or gradually appears in adulthood, especially if accompanied by:
- pain during erection; ;
- plaque or hard area under the skin; ;
- new difficulty in having reports; ;
- deformation after trauma; ;
- persistent erection problem.

The form alone does not predict the pleasure of a partner, the duration of a relationship or the quality of sexual function. What matters more is comfort, communication and the absence of worrying pain or change.
